National Style Kindergarten

Basing itself in a corner of time, imbuing the architecture with life, embracing the charm of the East and the poetry of nature, blending contemporary art with classical luxury, welcoming the passage of days and seasons with its own serene allure.

The art of "concealed landscapes" is an important technique in traditional Chinese garden design. The Moonhole Gate derives its name from its round shape and holds the essence of both concealed and framed scenes. When one passes through the Moonhole Gate, most of the garden's scenery remains hidden from view, creating an artful composition where landscapes are subtly revealed, resembling a vivid painting on a silk fan, provoking endless contemplation.

Though crafted by human hands, it seems as if it were created by heaven itself.

A "hidden path" nestled between mountains within the city. Stepping into the hall, one finds a serene environment with blooming flowers and a tranquil path that leads to distant mountains and flowing waters. Layered with native materials, this design evokes the ancient charm of times past. Children play and run around in small groups, like an unfolding ink painting.

Small stones form short paths.

In terms of circulation, the designer used small stones to link the interior and exterior landscapes, seamlessly connecting with the external cycling path, exemplifying the interplay of tradition and modernity. When reaching the folding screen, another "concealed scene" appears. In the interplay of light and shadow, the space remains spacious yet dynamic, echoing the educational philosophy of warmth, nature, and self-directed learning.

The second entrance: Friends of Literati.

The Qin (zither) breathes exquisite melodies, while the jade pillars rise with clear tunes.

The traditional arts of music, chess, calligraphy, and painting place the zither at the forefront. Its enduring cultural significance is carried through the fingertips, creating an atmosphere that is elegant, harmonious, and distant. The gentle breeze flows through the latticed windows, swaying distant mountain and river scenes, creating an atmosphere filled with profound artistic influence that touches children's hearts.

In the bamboo grove, no one is seen; only the sound of pieces falling is heard.

The sounds of the zither bring life to the room, and the chess game exudes wisdom. The designer used the floor as a chessboard, allowing light and shadow to cast an interplay of lines through the latticed windows. The bamboo sways in the wind, and the sound of chess pieces gently falling creates ripples, even though no one is seen playing the game. It's a natural ambiance.

Master Shi excels in calligraphy; he has practiced for many years.

As the saying goes, "Calligraphy reflects the heart of the writer." Traditional Chinese calligraphy seeks the "beauty of harmony, naturalness, and sincerity," embodying the fusion of emptiness and Dao. In the design, calligraphy is placed on the walls to stimulate children's curiosity and interest in calligraphy.

Old and new in harmony, the ink is radiant.

Passing through the curtains leads to a semi-open classroom. Antique-style desks and floor cushions create an atmosphere of timeless aesthetic appreciation. The scent of books, wood, and ink intermingle to cultivate a humanistic romance unique to a traditional Chinese-style academy.

The third entrance: A Marvelous Realm.

As the poem says, "A noble person should be like bamboo." Three or four white bamboo stems are placed beside small tables connected end to end. The natural wood floor represents water, while tables and chairs resemble stones, and the white bamboo stands tall. The scene exudes ancient charm.

The background wall is adorned with bright macaron colors, in line with the theme of the bakery. Combined with the simple and elegant arched window design, it merges Western classical aesthetics with Eastern poetic beauty, creating an intertwining collision of different cultures, much like the harmonious fusion of ink and colors.

Beyond artistic aesthetics, how can traditional Chinese architecture reflect its core humanistic values of harmony with nature and humanity? In the spacious activity room, the designer boldly used transparent striped glass partitions to separate sleeping areas from teaching spaces, improving natural lighting while creating a warm and comfortable sense of belonging.

The fourth entrance: Qu Shui Liu Shang.

Light is always an important element in dramatizing a space.

The Chinese pointed roof with a glass roof creates soft and rhythmic light between different materials. Underneath, there's a cobblestone path, and above, there's a long table that resembles a winding river. In the distance, archways of varying sizes stand in a staggered formation, dispelling the sense of heaviness brought by square space structures.
