Kindergarten Design

What is "Returning to Simplicity"? It is a design concept that, by eliminating excessive decorations, aims to reveal the intrinsic simplicity and authenticity of the design. It strikes a balance between minimalism and simplicity, emphasizing that design should not merely be superficial. The attitude and philosophy of "Returning to Simplicity" are conveyed into the hearts of children through the interplay of points and lines.

Returning to Simplicity·Material

# Abandon the Superficial, Seek the Essence

"Truth" represents the unadulterated essence of all things, a state unaltered by deliberate embellishments, and the return to the most genuine and natural textures.

Nature inherently possesses the "beauty of purity" and is the best material for creating spaces. The indoor spaces of the kindergarten, constructed with stacked natural wood, are less whimsical and exude a sense of stability and grandeur. They resemble a kindly elder, perhaps bearing wrinkles, yet having the clearest gaze and warmest embrace. They stand with a cane in this space, smiling and embracing all the child's words, playful and carefree.

Kindergarten Design

【Simplicity involves relinquishing and gaining. True simplicity not only allows us to return to our true selves but also helps us understand the meaning of tolerance.】

Using only natural wood and white, might this space become too monotonous? On the contrary, by reducing redundant decorations, the overall visual effect becomes more spacious, creating a wonderful artistic space of simplicity.

The designer believes that the design itself should not be the focus of the kindergarten; instead, the true stars should be the children who are active in this space. Leaving room for children to run and play is a compassionate gesture that caters to their natural inclinations.

Returning to Simplicity·Countryside

# Plucking Chrysanthemums by the Eastern Fence, Leisurely Gazing at the Southern Mountains

The ancient practice of "Returning to Simplicity" often involved a form of "retreat," essentially a return to the countryside.

The "countryside" can be seen as both a natural landscape and a state of mind, a pursuit of simplicity and authenticity.

With rustling winds and flowing waters, golden wheat fragrances in the air, being there, one can't help but feel a sense of joy and relaxation, which is the ambiance's effect. Within the minimalist space, an idyllic bakery is integrated, and the aroma of pastries fills the air, offering a pure enjoyment for body and soul.

Returning to Simplicity·Form

# To the Truest and Simplest, to the Purest and Truest Self

Geometry, a sensory aesthetics in the world of mathematics, is formed by ordinary lines outlining shapes and then combined to create a picture, ultimately forming an entire spatial artwork.

Geometry is everywhere, deeply ingrained in our lives but often overlooked.

If you suddenly have a flash of inspiration and try to backtrack the form of everything, you will find that it will ultimately lead to a known geometric shape. We can also consider this as the "truth" of form.

Creating Children's Dreams with Fingertips

LEGO Space:

From small tangram puzzles to scattered building blocks, they gradually evolve into LEGO spaces. Kindergartens are increasingly emphasizing children's spatial perception. Using LEGO toys encourages children to explore geometry, attempting to complete full works using different components, whether they are the recognition of new words or a speeding car on the road. This is their way of understanding the world.

Folding Geometric Shapes into Mysterious Spaces

Large-Scale Toys:

The inherent warmth of natural wood is maximized with curved contours, combined with starry light fixtures and transparent glass, adding a touch of charm to this simple and gentle space. It originates from nature and has been carefully constructed into a treehouse, satisfying children's insatiable curiosity and desire to explore.

Returning to Simplicity·Corners

# Free from Material Attachments, Creating from the Void

【Corners】 may evoke thoughts of narrowness and remoteness once mentioned. However, it often overlooks its inevitability. In architecture, corners will undoubtedly exist. If designed properly, each corner can be very useful.

Kindergarten Design

As a gathering place for children, storage is a fundamental consideration from the inception of every kindergarten. The challenge for the designer is to make storage inconspicuous, not disturbing the aesthetic beauty. It's a matter designers need to consider.

Benches, corner stairs, various functional wall decorations... our designers have unlocked one storage space after another, filling almost every corner of the kindergarten. Without compromising minimalist aesthetics, the goal is to maximize utility, transforming storage into the finest details.

Returning to Simplicity·Hearts

# Long Dwelling in a Cage, Returning to Nature

From the "raw" and "truth" of space to the inner nourishment of the soul, the environment is an inherent teacher to children. In the world of children, they can engage with the environment.

Creating a quiet space, with pottery, flower arrangements, and utensils for tea ceremonies, enveloped in the fragrance of tea, it guides them to comprehend the brilliance of time. The playful activities of the present are also amusing. In the not-so-distant future, children may look back and remember the moments of learning experienced in the kindergarten.

"That means our design was very successful," the designer concludes.
