Fuqing Wenguang Middle School Affiliated Kindergarten

This project is located in Fuqing City, which is surrounded by mountains and faces the sea, with numerous islands. The designers at Xi Yuan have brilliantly integrated marine elements into the interior design, creating a unique ocean-themed magical castle for the local children.

The indoor activity areas are divided into eight zones:

1. Lobby

A minimalist white theme enhances the sense of space in the lobby. Multiple support columns in the middle add richness to the space.

2. Lounge

The lounge is combined with the activity room, with a glass wall on the interior side, making the wall interesting and increasing indoor lighting. The indoor partitioning keeps the two areas relatively independent.

3. Baking Room

The baking room serves as a classroom and dining area, incorporating children's workstations, baking instruction areas, parent-child interactive zones, teaching walls, adult workstations, and interactive teaching zones. It caters to various needs such as teaching, interaction, baking, and dining, achieving an all-in-one teaching concept.

4. Art Room

The art room is a place to inspire children's artistic imagination. The different operating areas are all open, allowing children to share and collaborate. To account for the possibility of children accidentally getting paint or clay on the walls, the designers have used washable materials for storage cabinets, display counters, and partitions, and equipped the room with a dedicated sink for children.

5. Reading Room

To cater to different reading habits and boost children's interest in reading, multiple scenes for fun reading are designed in the reading room. An area for physical activity is also included in the reading room, liberating children's nature and allowing reading without rigid constraints.

6. Science Room

The science room features a plant cultivation area for an encounter with nature, chemical experiment stations for unraveling the mysteries of chemistry, a LEGO area for sparking creativity, and a water play area where children can play freely. Due to the variety of teaching aids in the science room, a row of cabinets is installed above the LEGO wall for teachers to classify and organize the teaching materials.

7. Role Playing Room

Blending common elements from the real world, such as roads, lawns, signs, and parking spaces, various shops are transformed into ant caves, recreating the "adult world" in the magical castle through a child's perspective. This room includes a supermarket, restaurant, hospital, hair salon, fire station, police station, flower shop, dollhouse, and gas station. Children can experience various aspects of life and have fun in this imaginative space.
